The November 2024 cover of Nature Methods features a fluorescence image of a mouse small intestine section captured by Dr. Amy Engevik of the Medical University of South Carolina, which won 4th place in this year’s Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition.
Dr. Engevik’s lab focuses on the molecular motor protein Myosin Vb and its pathological role in gastrointestinal disorders.
Also included in this issue is a pictorial editorial celebrating the “beauty of microscopy” and including a selection of other winning images from this year’s 50th-anniversary competition.
