Todd James is a photo editor for National Geographic Magazine. His photo editing experience there is best summed up in his own words, “You may edit photos of blue footed boobies before lunch and pictures of 500 year-old Inca mummies in the afternoon.” His prior experience includes photo editing for Business Week and Fortune magazines after spending several years as a freelance magazine photographer.

Director, Optical and Magneto-Optical Imaging Center at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory

Michael Davidson is the Director of the Optical and Magneto-Optical Imaging Center at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at Florida State University. Mr. Davidson’s photomicrographs have been published in more than a thousand national and international scientific journals, popular magazines and newspapers. He has also successfully utilized his expertise in launching two microscopy and photomicrography websites. Before becoming a judge, Davidson won two top ten Small World awards, placing 9th in 1987 and 9th in 1990.

Martin Scott is a consultant in scientific imaging technology. The former director of Scientific Imaging Markets at the Eastman Kodak Company, he also lectured extensively on photomicrography. He is a past president of the Biological Photogra[hic Association and a member of several microscopical societies.
