1981 Photomicrography Competition

Martin L. Scott is an advisor in the scientific application of photography at the Eastman Kodak Company, specializing in photomicrography, medical photography and archival properties of photographic materials. Mr. Scott has done research in graphic arts processes, and has a patent in gravure printing technique. He is co-founder of the Rochester Microscopical Society.

Nina Strömgren Allen is Assistant Professor of Biology at Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire. She is co-inventor of the AVEC methods of videomicroscopy and directs the practical portion of a course on optical microscopy at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

Vernon Miller is chairman of the Industrial/Scientific Department at Brooks Institute, School of Photographic Art, Santa Barbara, California. Since 1977, Mr. Miller has been chief photographer in the Shroud of Turin Research Project and has been responsible for the project’s preparations of photographic tests and analysis.

Raymond Lund is Director of the Pathology Photography at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Lund’s main interest in the medical field has been photomicrography and photographic automation. He is a Registered Biological Photographer, and a Fellow in the BPA.
