This photo shows a very attractive graphics composition of a diatom as a round shape and two cruciform superimposed fragments of the spicules of sponges. These forms come from a strewn slide from Oamura, New Zealand. Diatoms are microscopic, unicellular algae whose cell wall is hard shells, designed as a glassy silicate.
